MovEat is a way of discovering QuartoPiemonte through sport and local food and wine specialities.
Together with the expert guides of Azalai, a local outdoor institution, you will embark on a walk along some of our most evocative trails, veritable motorways of well-being, which will end in the farmyard of a farm or on a sun-kissed meadow, for a quick lunch based on the many delicacies of QuartoPiemonte.
This route is as tough as it is fascinating along the paths of the Val Borbera, which tell stories of tenacious farmers and brave partisans. The ascent starts immediately steep in the woods, but the effort is soon rewarded with extraordinary views over the narrows of Pertuso. The route then widens out and the gradients become gentler, passing through the hamlet of Fontana, from where you take the path to Mount Barillaro, which suddenly offers breathtaking views from Montebore to Mount Giarolo. It then continues along a carriage road under the peak of Mount Gavasa to reach another vantage point on the narrows, before coming out at the ghost town of Rivarossa. From here, the route descends steeply into the valley along a track dug out of the pudding to end at the Boscopiano picnic area, in the heart of the narrows, where a succulent barbecue is planned.
