Memories, traces of different cultures invariably accompanied Fernando Sironi on his return from every long journey, enclosed in capacious wooden or metal crates sent to Tortona from the most distant lands. These objects, expertly mixed with family furnishings, bring to mind the era of the “Grand tour”, when young people of the European aristocracy traveled around Europe to enrich themselves with knowledge about the cultures and history of the countries they visited. Fernando went far not only with his explorations of lands then far away to reach but also with the power of dreams.
